What we tile, and what that includes

A full bathroom is a sequence, and tiling sits in the middle of it. We take the room from strip-out through to the final silicone bead: old tile and screed removed, sheeting checked and refixed, hobs and niches formed, membrane applied and cured, then walls and floor set to a layout agreed with you before anything is glued.

Included as standard: set-out drawn on the wall before setting, niches sized to land on a grout line, mitred external corners where the tile body allows, falls checked to the waste with a level, and walls flat enough that a frameless screen sits without packers.

We coordinate directly with your plumber and glazier on dates so the room is not sitting idle for a week between trades.

Membranes installed to AS 3740: primer, bond breakers at every internal corner and change of plane, reinforcing at penetrations, two coats at the specified thickness, and the full cure time before a tile goes near it.

Every stage is photographed. You receive the product name, batch details and the photos, which is what a building surveyor asks for and what a buyer's inspector will want to see later.

Waterproofing can also be quoted on its own if you have your own tiler and want the membrane done by someone who does nothing else that week.

Splashbacks are judged from a metre away, so the cuts carry the whole job. We template around power points, window returns and range hoods, mitre the external edges rather than reaching for plastic trim, and set the bottom course tight to the benchtop with a silicone joint that can move.

Grout colour is matched against your actual benchtop and cabinetry rather than a chart under shop lighting. Most splashbacks are a one to two day job, and the kitchen is usable again the same week.

Large-format porcelain is unforgiving: a two millimetre hollow under a 1200mm tile becomes a drummy tile and then a cracked one. We check flatness across the whole run, self-level or screed where it is needed, back-butter every tile, and set to laser lines so the joints stay true from the entry through to the living area.

Perimeter and field movement joints are placed where the standard calls for them. On long open-plan floors this is the difference between a floor that settles quietly and one that lifts along a seam in its second summer.

External work fails faster than anything inside, because it carries weather, movement and sun in the same square metre. We rebuild falls to the drain, tie the drainage flange properly into the waste, use external-grade membranes and adhesives, and detail the perimeter joints so the slab can move without taking the tiles with it.

On unit balconies we can usually tell within a visit whether the original fall is workable or whether the topping needs to come off. Either way you get the answer before the quote, not after the demolition.

Not every tired bathroom needs replacing. Where the substrate is sound, a full regrout with colour-matched grout, fresh silicone in every change of plane, replacement of drummy or cracked tiles and a re-seal of porous stone will buy a room years and cost a fraction of a rebuild.

Where it will not hold, we say so. A leaking shower that has been feeding water into a wall cavity is a strip-out, and dressing it up with new grout only hides the damage until the plasterboard gives it away.
